
Uberlândia Landfills I and II
This landfill is located in Uberlândia city, Minas Gerais state, Brazil and generates electricity through landfill gas from the decomposition of solid waste.
Description
The objective of project is to collect the landfill gas produced at the Uberlândia landfill and use it to generate electricity. It currently has a total installed capacity of 4.2 MW, consisting of 3 motors of 1.4 MW each. The annual estimate of electricity generation of 35,600 MWh/year. The landfill is made up of two adjacent solid waste disposal sites (SWDS), called landfill I and II.
The Project is registered under United Nations (UNFCCC) and Gold Standard (GS).
