BENG is present at the Brazilian Climate and Carbon Conference: promoting dialogue on sustainable futures and the carbon market
We had the pleasure of participating in the Brazilian Climate and Carbon Conference, which took place between 15th and 16th October 2024, at the Santander Theater, in São Paulo, Brazil. The BENG team was present, represented by CEO Francisco Santo and Commercial Manager Dejoces Castro, thus having an incredible opportunity to exchange knowledge and connect with partners and customers at this impactful event.
Organized by the Brazil NBS Alliance, the Brazilian Climate and Carbon Conference is a gathering that brings together professionals and experts from the sector, academics and government representatives interested in climate changes and opportunities in the carbon market. This magnificent event brought together national and international experts to discuss three main axes: climate, carbon market (regulated and voluntary) and perspectives for COP 29 in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan.
It was an opportunity to explore the future perspectives of the carbon market in Brazil and reflect on the sector’s progress in the coming months. The event addressed important issues for the country, such as the impact of regulation, good practices in the sector, challenges faced, emerging opportunities, state jurisdictional programs, individual projects and nature-based solutions, among other aspects.
As highlighted by Commercial Manager Dejoces, “Carbon markets are essential to achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement, and we are excited to play a key role in this transition as the largest developer of Landfill Gas Projects (LFG) in Latin America, representing a large number of carbon credit generation projects in several Standards (Gold Standard, Verra, Global Carbon Council, Cercarbono, etc) and managing everything from project development to the final sale of carbon credits. Together, we can drive significant and lasting changes toward a more sustainable future.”
Lastly, we would like to thank and congratulate Janaina Dallan, Carla Zorzanelli, and the entire Brazil NBS Alliance team for their impeccable organization of the event. May new meetings come, providing even more opportunities for discussions, not only in the educational and networking fields, but also as a platform to strengthen the Brazilian carbon market. After all, we are the largest generated of #carboncredits in the world!
